The Mathews Mar Athanasius Residential School is owned and managed by the Trinity Mar Thoma Educational Agency, Thittamel, Chengannur. The school is under the management of the TME Agency which is a registered society since 1983. The school is affiliated to The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) New Delhi from 1984 with the registration code KE003. The plus two(ISC classes) started from 1994 and the school celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 2001.

The Vicar of the Trinity Mar Thoma Parish, Thittamel is the President of the school. Padma Bhushan His Grace The Most Rev. Dr.Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan is our guide and guardian. His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan is the Patron and Rt. Rev. Thomas Mar Timotheos Episcopa is the Vice – Patron of the school. The school was founded by the Late Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Athanasius Episcopa in 1959 as the Kalamandiram Nursery School.

In a short span of time, the school achieved phenomenal development and earned good reputation. It is a veritable sanctum sanctorium where the future citizens of our illustrious country will achieve refinement of tastes, perfection of talents and high moral standards. Now it is a co–educational ISC English Medium School offering classes from LKG to Standard XII. It is situated in an ideal, elevated place with serene environment at Angadical South on the side of Kollam – Theny Highway, but away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The School offers ICSE/ISC syllabus. The medium of instruction is English, but due importance is given to Malayalam and Hindi. One of these languages can be taken as second language for the ICSE examinations. Computer science is incorporated into the school curriculum and can be offered as an optional paper in the Std. X and XII examinations.

Our Plus Two Course is confined to the science stream. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the core papers. Along with these either Biology or Computer Science can be opted.

SUPW is a compulsory subject. This includes Farming, Gardening, Cleaning, Community Service etc. and grades are given to students on the basis of their work. Those who get less than ‘D’ grade in X and XII will not be awarded Pass Certificates by the Council.

Excellent facilities are provided for co-curricular activities so that the body, mind and spirit find their perfection. Sports, Games, Music, Drawing, Painting, Personality Development Programmes , Counselling - all form part of the balanced schedule; Retreats, Seminars, Educational tours etc. are regular features.

Rev. Dr John George, Vicar of the Trinity Mar Thoma Church is the present President of the school. Mrs. Elsie Aly Chacko serves as the Principal of the school.
